Beautifully done. Reasonable price. A few pieces came loose during shipping and we sent a the supplier a picture and replacement parts came in three days. Very pleased
We are extremely pleased with the mural. This review is going to point out some of the negatives of the purchase so that future buyers know what they are getting. We would definitely purchase from Mozaico again. So the negatives. Not surprisingly, the mozaic we received was not at the same quality as the one on the website. There were no blues in the water, and the leaves in the trees were not as well defined. We also had issues with some of the artistry of the piece, both the one on the website, and the one received. The background often does not continue behind the birds. As the artisan places tiles, they are doing it in sections and are not paying attention to the overall picture. There is a branch under the left bird that was the same tile as the legs, and looked like a fifth leg. There was a tremendous amount of glue/adhesive on the backing of the mozaic. We are concerned how well the tile will adhere over time, but so far we have no issues. Mozaico includes loose tile with the mozaic. With these tiles, we were able to "fix" some of the things that we did not like - the fifth leg, the different color tile by the left bird's neck and legs. This was time consuming but worth it for what is a centerpiece in our kitchen. I would have liked to transition the dark-to-light in the log in the lower right of the mural, but we ran out of steam and it wasn't worth the effort. We ordered field tiles from Mozaico so that they would match the mural (material and color). And the field tile does match, but is thicker than the mozaic. The 12"x12" field tiles took a lot of time lacing in the transitions, and the sheets were out of square - we would not recommend using the Mozaico tiles if you have a large area as this was extremely time consuming. We don't think a paid contractor would have put the time and effort in. A lot of the tiles have saw marks on them - we find that it adds texture to the tiles and looks fine installed. We installed the tile onto a precut backing board, with small sections of tile removed to allow for countersunk screws to studs. I am attaching photos of the mural as received and the final installation. The field tiles are green, but with the lighting look blue gray. If the color is critical, I suggest that you check how it looks with the lighting where you are going to install the tile. We were initially going to use a beige grout as recommended by Mozaico, but it looked awful with the field tiles, so we ultimately used charcoal. The white marble at the bottom is from tile we had laying around. We recommend sealing the tile before you grout - we did not, and there was some staining of the white tile, especially the marble at the bottom. Maybe one layer of seal before you grout, and then another one or two afterwards. The mural shipped from the US, so arrived within 2 weeks of purchase. The field tiles shipped from Lebanon and took about a month. I believe Mozaico says 4-6 weeks for shipping.
The mosaic is a beautiful intricate work of art. We are very pleased and will post pictures when installed.
