5 • Betsy Youngquist – Metamorphosis

Betsy Youngquist is a mixed media artist who creates unique mosaic sculptures using beads and mosaic glass tiles in her studio, located in Rockford. This project is called Metamorphosis and it’s an exploration of the human connection between physicality and spirituality through a focus on life cycles.

4 • Sophie Drouin – Sculptural

Sophie’s father was a mosaic artist who was trained in Italy, which gave her the opportunity to study with him first. She then travelled to Europe herself to study and get certified in Italy and France. Today Sophie gives workshops on technique and design with specific attention to natural minerals and stones. According to her, mosaic art enlarges the possibilities of the medium and adds a vibrant touch to a dull sculpture.

2 • Randall Weidner – Mosaic Sculptures

Randall Weidner received his bachelor in architecture and interior design with High Honors from the University of Texas in Austin. He moved to British Columbia in 2011, where he had his first solo exhibition at the Place des Arts. Influenced by Antoni Gaudi, he handcrafted many monumental mosaics and sculptures.

Her passion is about transforming what’s old into something new. Schwegmann is given the nickname of ‘contemporary vintage artist’.
